From the Beginning

Welcome to Magic In Melanin Daycare & Learning Center, a nurturing haven designed to empower and inspire the youth of Detroit, MI. Founded by Ashley Mattison and Wayne Brown, our holistic approach to education and growth aims to provide a safe and enriching environment for children aged 2 to 14. 

Our Founders:

Ashley Mattison brings a wealth of experience in education, having taught at multiple daycare and preschool centers in the metro Detroit area. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she serves as an esteem coach for little league, high school and all-star sports. Ashley's passion for fostering children's potential led her to own a cheer and dance center, encouraging kids to excel on and off the mat.

Wayne Brown, an esteemed businessman, shares Ashley's passion for nurturing young minds. As a mentor for youth in the metro Detroit & surrounding areas and a volunteer for nonprofit organizations in metro Detroit, Wayne's commitment to children's wellbeing shines through.
